After returning back to compete in the class 5A state soccer tournament this 2013 season, the Bobcats and Ladycats soccer teams received accolades for their production on the field. The Bobcats and Ladycats excelled through the season to pick up key wins during the 5A South Conference season and competing in several tournaments. With a absence of being state tournament bound last season, head coach Zac Hoglund took his experience as assistant coach the last few years and debuted his first year qualifying both Bobcats and Ladycats soccer teams for postseason play. Hoglund welcomed assistant coaches Matt McBride and Josh Marshall to help HHS prevail during the season and secure several key wins. HHS earned No. 3 seeds for state this season and capture victories during the 5A South Conference season. Bobcats' Juan Arroyo and Edmundo Dominguez earned 5A All-State honors, Luis Arroyo, Marcos Santiago, Alex Gerardo and Mauricio Torres received 5A South All-Conference honors. Juan Arroyo led the Bobcats in scoring this season on the offensive attack. He was selected to play in the 2013 Arkansas High School Coaches Association All-Star game this June held at the University of Central Arkansas campus. Arroyo will play on the west all-star roster as a representative from the 5A South Conference.Ladycats' Brenda Azanza and Magali Morales earned 5A All-State honors, Angelica Fulton, Stephanie Finlay,Beats by Monster, Gillian Laughard and Karen Aranda received 5A South All-Conference and Laura Montalvan was 5A South All-Conference Honorable Mention.Coach Hoglund was very pleased with the soccers play during the season. Hoglund said, he thought both soccer teams were playing their best heading into the state tournament and glad they qualified to play during the postseason.Despite, falling to Batesville in the first round of the state tournament held in Harrison, the Bobcats and Ladycats improved from last season to be state tourney bound for 2013. The Bobcats and Ladycats both earned No. 3 seeds for the state tournament.
